]]> http://www.globalconnections-bg.org/support-global-connections-buy-a-t-shirt/feed/ 0 Community English Classes Start! http://www.globalconnections-bg.org/community-english-classes-start-2/ http://www.globalconnections-bg.org/community-english-classes-start-2/#comments Tue, 17 Jan 2012 03:39:31 +0000 bmanahan http://www.globalconnections-bg.org/?p=1312 Global Connections’ Community English Class resumes this Wednesday at the Alliance Church.  This is a free program offered to all nonnative English speakers.  However, though the class itself is free, students are  required to purchase a workbook for $18.   There are three levels of proficiency taught: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.  Each proficiency level has it’s own teacher including a Pre-Beginner Class.  The Pre-Beginner Class has no textbook requirement.  It’s not too late to join the class, and it’s a great way to improve your English speaking skills!

Main Street.  If you need a ride, please meet in front of the Center for International Programs, south end of University Hall, Parking Lot A at 6:30 PM.

Date/Place: Friday, January 13th at Varsity Lanes

Time: 7:00-9:00 PM.

Cost: $8.00 which includes 2 games of bowling, shoe rental, pizza and drink.

Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel …

which means ‘God is with us’.  When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife into his home.  He had no relations with her until she bore a son, and he named him Jesus.”  Matthew 1:18-25

At Global Connections we look forward to sharing our holiday time with you in whatever way we can.  Many families will host Internationals in their homes, do a shopping trip together, help provide transportation to the airports, buses or train, or in some other way help.  If you have a need, please let us know. (These two pictures are from a recent Friendship Friday in which we created wreaths out of natural greenery and then an International Shopping Trip to Toledo.)
