Global Connections along with host church Alliance, entertained around 100 internationals plus volunteers at the Davis’ farm this past Saturday. Food was provided by chef Tony Brubaker along with GC partners. Everyone enjoyed skewerless shishkabobs and had a choice of vegetarian, chicken or beef varieties served with rice. Salads and lots of desserts filled even the biggest of appetites. There were hayrides, corn hole, volleyball, futball (soccer), boating, line dancing as well as square dancing. Finishing the night was a campfire where we roasted marshmallows and made s’more (chocolate/graham cracker/marshmallow) dessert treats.
An unexpected international treat was the music and singing of a student from Mexico who was an opera voice major. I didn’t catch his name, but his singing was beautiful! Move over Luciano Pavarotti!
